Argentina
Dear Friends,
My name is Megan Pirtle. I'm from Little Rock, AR and I'm a sophomore in high school. In the fall I'm planning to go to Argentina through the AFS Intercultural Program to study abroad for 11 months. Through this experience I hope to broaden my view on our world and hopefully broaden other people's views that I meet while on my trip. I've lived in Arkansas for a significant portion of my life and I crave the culture that this experience would provide for me.
I attend a magnet school for the Arts at which I major in Dance. They have graciously agreed to hold my spot for the year in order to let me have this experience. My only condition is that I must do an Independent Studies in dance. As you may know, Argentina is the birthplace of Tango and has some of the most beautiful ballet. I hope that I will gain knowledge of Argentina's dance culture as well as skills in this passion of mine.
This experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I sincerely do not want to miss out on. I plan to raise 13,100 dollars for my tuition and spending money. I am currently doing many fundraisers and have a summer job lined up. However I still need some help making my dream come true.
